Future of the Monarchy: In Conversation with Polly Toynbee and Alexandra Hall Hall

On Tuesday 12 July at 4pm the Commission hosted a public In Conversation discussion between Polly Toynbee and Alexandra Hall Hall.

Polly Toynbee, the Guardian social commentator and former BBC Social Affairs Editor, and Alexandra Hall Hall, former Ambassador to Georgia and Brexit Counsellor in Washington, are two of our Commissioners who feel differently about the role of the monarchy in modern British society.

This followed the Commission’s recent publication of its Options Paper on the Head of State on 23 May.

The event was held online. The video recording of the event is available online here.
